Welcome to Town Creek Farm, Where Wholesome Land Meets Wholesome Food!
Hello there!
We are the Galbreaths, first generation farmers and owners of Town Creek Farm! Our farming journey started in 2021 when we bought our land. The plan was to raise free range kiddos and our operation has since expanded to chickens. There is nothing better than muddy boots, scuffed knees and dirty hands.
Our happy hens are raised a mile from The Pendleton Square on our 37-acre farm, Town Creek Farm. We keep our ladies on pasture year-round, moving them multiple times a week. This gives them the ability to enjoy lots of sunlight and to forage on a variety of fresh bugs, grasses and other plants. This forage is supplemented with organic feed from Kentucky that does not have any corn or soy fillers, which are commonly found in chicken feed. All of this creates an environment for happy chickens and the BEST EGGS!
We like to say, Wholesome Land. Wholesome Food. This means, if we take a holistic approach to caring for the soil, it will produce better food for our animals and eventually wholesome food for us all.
We like to eat! So when we started Town Creek Farm, we wanted to raise and grow the best food we could. For our chickens, this meant raising healthy and happy birds. We put a plan together to systematically move our girls through the pasture so they could forage and enjoy the things every chicken loves to eat- fresh plants and bugs! Only after giving them what they would naturally eat did we start supplementing their diet with the absolute best feed we could get our hands on. The feed we use is milled in Kentucky and does not have any of the normal fillers that common feeds have, such as corn and soy. It is also organic and non- GMO. You know…ALL that good stuff! Stack all of this up and what do you get? Eggs that have hearty, deep colored shells and thick flavorful yokes that grow darker and lighter as the seasons change. Eggs the way mother nature intended!
Check this out! After about a few months, these hens will start another lap around the pasture. They find it better than when they left it because the soil has had time to rest. The plants are thicker and lusher due to all the scratching, seeding and fertilizing the hens did previously. Each pass their food source is better than the last time! This is the heart of regenerative farming and our mantra:
Wholesome Land. Wholesome food.

Meet the Galbreath Family
My husband and I both grew up just outside of Atlanta and met here in Clemson. We got married (after a short season of dating!) and decided to settle in Pendleton. I got my nursing degree from Clemson University and my husband has a degree in automotive technology and business. He is a residential home appraiser and owns his own business. We have 3 beautiful (and wild!) children. We met the old fire chief for Clemson at the Pendleton Farmer’s Market that was selling his 37-acre horse farm and here we are!

(By the way, I know this picture is blurry, but it is one of my favorites! What's better than family, cold weather, and endless pasture to explore!)
